Snow? Eh?

Despite our latitude, it doesn't snow very often here. These last few weeks though, we've had enough to keep a small layer of hard packed snow with a perpetual layer of ice under it.

When picking up Larissa from school on Wednesday, I was surprised to see several parents picking kids up via sled. We're not talking the big red plastic things you find in the US. These were all little wooden sleighs with strips of metal on the wooden runners. Very victorian.

Of course grandpa had one in the shed, so when we picked up Larissa on Thursday, we surprised her with a ride home.
